COVID-19 vaccination
We don’t know when the Food and Drug Administration will authorize vaccines. Along with DOH, we’re watching vaccine development efforts closely. We will only promote a safe and effective vaccine.
Once a safe and effective vaccine is available, we anticipate limited supplies at first. We expect more vaccine will become available over time. DOH is developing vaccine distribution plans. People at high risk of getting COVID-19 will likely get the vaccine first:
- People who work in healthcare or first responders who treat patients with COVID-19.
- Older adults who live in congregate care settings.

Additional Information for Providers
Use the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Provider Preparation Checklist to guide you.
The Provider Agreement Package from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) includes two parts:
- COVID-19 Vaccination Program Provider Agreement—Provider organizations must agree to conditions of the program to receive COVID-19 vaccine. The agreement is between your organization and CDC. The Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer—or equivalent positions at your organization—must sign the document.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Program Provider Profile Information—This section collects information to help manage the COVID-19 vaccination program. If your organization has multiple sites that will receive or administer COVID-19 vaccine, you must complete a profile form for each site.
